Some
words about me...
I
am Joel, 23 years old, portuguese by birth but living in Germany.
I have been fascinated by photography since I was young, but I never
realized the true potential of a photocamera.
When I started my apprenticeship and was told by a colleague about the
possibilities of single lens reflex cameras, I just went to the next
photo store and bought my first own SLR camera. Since then I have been
trying to coax everything possible out of this "toy".
My affection to extreme sports photography depends directly on my greatest
hobby -- downhill mountainbiking. I had to practice for a long time
until I managed to get a more or less decent picture. But with the right
feeling for this kind of sports... some books on photography.. and a
lot of friends I got to know by doing this, my results started to improve.
Here I would like to say "THANK YOU" to everyone who had the
patience to teach me all this -- especially to Gero Deibert (gero.tk)
and Friedemann Botsch.
In the meantime I have noticed
that it is very important not to focus on just one single form of photography
-- so I just take pictures of everything I am interested in.
